Skip, I have over 100 chevy cranks in the shop, both two piece rear
seal and the newer one piece seal. They all measure the same. The one
piece seal crank takes a different flywheel (different bolt pattern) but
the spacing is the same. I have replaced 700R4's with TH400's and the
other way with no problems. There is no different cranks for Vette's.
They mount the motor with a engine plate between the water pump and
block so they use a spacer behind the crank balancer to line up the
belts. That's the only thing I know of.
