Jim Marz, Car #81, running in the 120 mph target speed class, has a new
paint job this year with white on the nose and from the beltline down on his
'81 Corvette. It is extremely well done and with the maroon on the rest of
the car it is a striking result. He sounded strong as he passed us. Nice
thing about a video camera, you can re-live hearing the experience even if
you are a lousy videographer. Jim was talking up the 130 and 150 clubs to
some other racers as we were eating lunch. I have photos I am sending to
him today down in "Hangtown" as it used to be known during the gold rush
days. Douglas, AZ was also a mining town if I remember correctly. Ed, what
is it about these road racers and mining towns?
