Beth: You get a good grade on your calculations, but don't top-out at 180. At 212, it take 960 BTUs per pound to boil water so it would take a massive amount of heat to boil out your 40 G. You can get by with less than 40G, and replace any that boils out between runs. If you mount the water tank in the rear, it serves as ballast for rear tire traction so the more weight the better. The downside is that you have more mass to accelerate to speed. Hope this helps, Tom |
