Not sure that that applies to all drums. The rear of my BN2 has drums which
has sections of the "balancing band" removed for balancing but the fronts
have no such band and are "were" out by about 2oz on the perimeter each.

nce I had between the wheel and drum, and I was able to take them a wheel a=
nd hub so they could see how it all fit together.=C2=A0 The results are jus=

inner).=C2=A0 I had a machinist mount the hub on the lathe and ensure that =
it was true on the inside edges (where the bearings fit) and had him put a =
slight chamfer on the edges to provide better registration for the standard=
cones on a modern balancer.=C2=A0 Then we machined the centre out of the s=
pinner so=C2=A0 that when the wheel is mounted on the hub and the spinner i=
s tightened, the outer cone on the balancer fits through it and registers o=
n the hub.=C2=A0 That part is a little tricky as if you machine the hole to=
o big, the spinner will end up in two pieces =E2=80=93 measure carefully!=
=C2=A0 Hub and spinner was $25 at a swap meet and machining was $50.=C2=A0 =
I believe this adaptor will work on any post-war wire wheels except the Jag=
s, which had different hubs.=C2=A0 Worked a treat on my TC wheels.=C2=A0 He=
aley is running vibration-free- so leaving it alone for now.</span></p>

ered to mark the position of the wheels when you took them off and did not =
rotate them (to a different position on the car)!=C2=A0 That is likely one =
reason =C2=A0they are not used anymore, because if your drums were out of b=
alance and you added weights to the wheel that balanced them out, then ever=
y time you removed the wheel, you=E2=80=99d loose the balance, unless it we=
nt back in exactly the same position. =C2=A0=C2=A0Anyhow it=E2=80=99s a moo=
t point as I have not seen an on-wheel balancer for decades. =C2=A0=C2=A0I =
imagine that disks run very true anyhow, but when I balanced the drums on t=
he TC=C2=A0 they were significantly off.=C2=A0 I hear balancing Healey drum=
s brings good results, but never felt the need as my BT7 has always run pre=
tty smooth.=C2=A0 If anyone in Ontario (Canada) wants drums balanced, Garla=
nd and Sons in Scarborough did great work for me.</span></p>
