Marion,
That was someone else that carries a spare. I did exactly what you suggest.
I installed two electronic SU's in parallel. Each controlled by it's own
on/off toggle switch. It was a bit of a challenge to figure out where/how to
install the two pumps, but in the end it worked out very neatly. Now all I
have
to decide is whether to run on one & "save" the other as a spare, or alternate
between the two so that they both wear out at the same time!

Hi Gary-
Since you carry a spare SU pump why not go a step further and install it in
a parrallel fashion with an individual switch for each pump.
In our BJ8 use 2 Neg ground SUs mounted side by side with double fitting
banjos on the original pump and fuel lines to the single banjo fittings on
the
additional pump.
A little anti theft secret is is to put a on/off toggle switch to each
pump.In that fashion you have the option of which one you wish to use or
both if
the case should arrise where you experience a vaccum block and need the
additional pressure to pump the fuel to the carbs.
Contact me off list if you are interested I do have a listing of all the
parts necessary to make this conversion and apicture of the installation. I
will
send the picture and list to those that are interested. .
