At one time I removed the pins, tapped the holes in the head and installed=
studs in place of the pins.=C2=A0 I enlarged the holes in the manifold to =
accept the new studs.=C2=A0 This gives a more secure way to attach the inta=
ke manifold.=C2=A0 I also modified the manifold clamps so that one side is =
thinner to accommodate the thickness difference between the intake flanges =

This is correct. The thickness of the clamping surfaces must be the same. =
It also helps to tighten thebottom clamp between the manifolds first. The i=
ntake will hang up on the pin between the intake ports=C2=A0and not let the=
bottom of the intake seat all the way. Sometimes the hole for the pin is t=
oo tight.
