Lyman;
Further to my earlier email: another possible cause is a mis match in the t=
hicknesses of the intake and exhaust manifold flanges. If they are not abou=
t the same, the bridges can hang up on the stud and appear to be tight but =
not really pressing on the flange. =C2=A0The cure for this is to either ope=
n up the hole in the bridge or weld some pedestals on the thinner flange. =
=C2=A0 Or a custom bridge....

Lyman;
Are you certain that the manifold and head mounting surfaces are flat? We=
=E2=80=99ve seen this with manifolds that have warped a bit.
As Dave recommended earlier, the thicker high performance Remflex gaskets a=
vailable from Moss or the even thicker ones from Brian at British Frame and=
Engine will accommodate some of this, but not all. The clamping force is l=
ow due to the need for the exhaust manifold to slide on the gasket and henc=
e the limited bolt tightening torque recommended.
Hope this helps,
Phil Gott
