For Me, I look at the cost vs track time as my primary criterion. That usually
means more club-like events. Festival events such as the recent Road America or
as SVRA runs at Watkins Glen are undeniably fun, but as a regular occurrence
not good value for money. Total cost includes the whole package; towing,
accommodations, etc. so rotating the Cup from coast to coast enables me to get
to every other one, at least theoretically. The exception might be Sonoma where
we could combine a family vacation taking winery tours before or after,
So the locale matters as well.
Glad to hear Tony mention Lime Rock. It is a small but historic 1.6 mile track
with some elevation change and a great history (see â??The Secret Valley of
Motor Racingâ?? on You Tube) and will hold 38 cars. Nestled in the Berkshire
Mountains and near several cultural venues it is a great place for a family
vacation They have a limited number of unmuffled weekends but there is small
chance we could get involved with one of those weekends.
