Dan, I bought TRF's tubular headers years ago and HATE them. Shoddy
workmanship, leaky welds, flange thickness half that of the intake (as
you noted), gross mounting hole mismatches, the list goes on. I didn't
discover the problems until long after TRF would accept them back, so I
bit the bullet. In retrospect, they should have gone 1) to metal
recyclers or 2) ebay.
I worked around the flange thickness problem by welding a block of steel
to the exhaust stud clamps, so I *think* I have uniform pressure on each
side. Time will tell....
