We use to lay Figure-8 gaskets on 0.008" copper shim sheets, draw the ID's
and OD's, and cut out four shim washers (using cuticle scissors) to fit on
top of the Figure-8 gaskets. This gives you a little more squashability on
the steel shim head gaskets. I haven't done this recently since some of the
faster people weren't doing this maneuver.
