I once knew a guy who had a 70's vintage Travel-All van/ truck.....At one
particular time,...exact reason unknown, but I do remember "it seemed like
the 'right' thing to do at the time", ......He/ we, (no, it WAS he, now that
I think on it some more,......stuck a pencil down a spark plug hole to find
"Top Dead Center", otherwise known as TDC......Yes, that worked,......he
found TDC,......AND....you guessed it.....broke the pencil off in the 1st
cylinder, about 3-4" or so, ..more than enough to decide to remove the
manifolds, head, etc., etc., Ha! Ha! looking back, it seems funny
now.....oh, just remembered,.....it's was funny THEN!, (it wasn't my
vehicle/problem, but I did keep the laugh to myself..Whoever said I don't
have "social skills"? :-)
