Be sure you prime the lubrication system before you attempt to turn it over
at all. It would be a real shame to scrub a bearing on an engine like that.

If it were mine, I'd at least pull the head and check the cylinders,
or maybe use a bore scope if you can rent or borrow one. If the bores
aren't clean you know what to do. If they are, you're fine. You've
invested too much time and $$$ to cut corners now, IMO.
