If you do, you'll get compression and loads before you get oil up.
I'd over the area with cloth. Don't stick cloth in the holes, it will be blown
out or drawn in.

That's how my motor ate a bolt. If you do this you should tape over the
sparkplug holes or find some other way to keep things from falling in the
cylinder.
