Yes, they can be VERY useful. When we had our original 2000 in '70 I didn't
like folding the top so we'd just take it off and leave it in the garage. On
more than one occasion we'd get caught in a pretty good rain so the next day
I'd pull the seats, carpets and padding, along with anything else I could
get out easily, pop out the plugs and carefully hose out the floorboard
area, then let everything dry.

Oh..., and trust me on this one. Don't EVER run one of the things through a
"Robo" car wash. Don't ask how I know, but I'd give anything to have video
of the two of us looking for ANYTHING to stuff in the too numerous places
the water was shooting into the interior, with us in it, of course.

I'm hoping the 2000 I'm getting either has a good tonneau or I can buy one.
I'm sure we'll be leaving the top off a lot, just so I can get my oversized
carcass in and out of the car (see Marc Tyler's pictures from
Fredericksburg). Hoping said acquisition will be real soon. We have contract
on the Arlington house, they're prequalified and they want to close NLT
August 27. Yahoo!!
