Well, let me give ya'll a little insight on high
horsepower in the roadster.
Some of you have the the Turbo Roaster. Last year at
378 RWHP, I broke 6 roadster rear ends. I am
converting to a Ford 8.8 and hope to not break any
more. Now as to control, the car is 1940 pounds before
I climb in. I can only say the fun factor is
incredible. I have taken many people for rides in the
car at autocrosses and they cannot believe the
acceleration.
The other things that I have had to stregthen are all
the frame joints. The roadster frame is pretty stiff
and I have had stress cracks developing after 2.5
years of flogging this beast.
The third thing is much stiffer front and rear springs
and sway bar mounts. I custom made the rear mounts and
am working on stronger ones for the front. The rear
springs are 4 leafs, 2 are from a 3/4 ton pickup and
the other 2 are nismo comp springs. the fronts are
nismo comp springs and I am going to go from 850 in/lb
to 1050 in/lb for testing.
Just some thoughts.
