I just went through this for 3 months on a 68 2000. You probably need the
cam tower shims. If you don't know the head thickness then its a guess. .030
really tightened mine up and it ran great. Valve geometry was improved also
as was the valve timing. However, be very careful lining up the cam towers
after removal. place the cam in and tighten the lowers after your sure its
aligned.The uppers will line up with the lowers. Go slowly and good luck.
