I am here to sheepishly admit that we do have a pit in our new garage. Before the imperiled firemans association finds MAine allow me to explain. We built the garage on pressure treated posts. The wood floor is fully 24" above ground level and the wind is free to move at will under and around. We can sit under cars and work. Sometimes we sit under cars and wait for someone to move it so we can get out...now again! no panic please! We could crawl out in any of three directions. Now in my thinking the safety of having these vehicles firmly on their wheels supercedes whatever dangers our set-up might have. We also get to have a nice little down draft fab in our paint area. The pit is generally covered but I will do the right thing and nail the cover in place permanently. On second thot, as a Democrat, I think those republicans who just took over have promised no more Government meddling. Maybe I'll wait. Oh yeah fab is fan. Dick Burger Mainely_mgs |
