I may yet give this a try if nothing else works, though I'd prefer a
clamp. I have plenty of SS safety wire.

I may have just overfilled the rack. Every time I've had the gaiters
loose (3 times now), I've added a few squirts in an attempt to make up
for what's leaked out.
