This engine IS a low-performance 289.  It's a "temporary" replacement
until I get the HiPo rebuilt.

Never had this problem, though on the HiPo the plugs tended to foul
during around town driving.

I know ole Shel only considered AC as one of his many subcontractors,
but when you own a snake, you damn well know you own a British car.

Well, if I ever get around to it, I'll take another look.  Seems
like I saw solder at the condenser/clamp mating surface.

I'd be a little concerned about the wire cutting through the rubber.
If I can make an improved clamp, I'll try that first.  But if that 
doesn't work out....

I agree with this.  That's why I didn't even attempt to use the cable 
ties that came with the gaiters.

It's hard to tell from the outside, but the plate seals looked more like
metal shims than gaskets.  Maybe one you 'B owners out there knows.
