We've found it very straightforward. Start with a warm engine, pull
a plug (preferably #1 or #4) and put the Colortune plug in. Run
engine and watch the color of the spark as you adjust the mixture.
If the mixture is really adjusting, the glass viewer will most
visibly change from orange to blue as the mixture is leaned out. This
is VERY pronounced.
If you don't see a change, as in my case, the problem is in the mixture.
The Colortune is very obvious in its change. Of course, the measure
of how rich or lean the mixture is can be subtle (shades of orange and
blue) but the rich/lean division is easy to spot.
Are you doing anything differently?

(The tool I have trouble with is the EZBleed. I can't get a good seal on
the large-mouthed brake fluid reservoir found on the '73 B. The small
reservoirs work great though, my clutch bled nicely.)
