I have no regulators on the open valves. just the release valves. maybe
I should look into them.

So if the door latch gets stuck and you hold the button you CAN damage
the door?

I was planning on putting the switches on a short electronic timer with
the end goal of remotely operating them. however, once in a while the
lock solenoid sticks, and prevents the door from opening.
