I have an unmolested 74 and want to get it to pass California smog. The
hydrocarbons are high and I noticed that when I look down the throat of the
carb and pump the carb (in other words pump the accelerator pump), raw gas
kind of shoots straight up in the center and into the throats right above
where the accelerator jets are (besides coming out of the jets like it is
supposed to). It is almost like there is an unintended hole there -- I
don't think that it is normal cause the gas shoots up and sort of dribbles
down one side and the other, without it really being measured. Anyone know
if this is correct. If need be, I can send a digital picture to show it
more clearly. Kim
