The aviation community has always shared accident reporting. Maybe not real
time, but eventually the reports come out. See aviation weekly for examples.
People involved in the accidents are encouraged to discuss the problems
leading up to the big event so to prevent others from going down that path in
the future. Aviators realize that for the grace of God it might have happened
to them, so those involved are not treated as dirt balls, but rather a
wonderful source of first hand information.
