Hello all,
I'm pretty much a lurker on this list and enjoy reading all the posts
that people send out. I've learned a lot from listening, but enjoyed what
everyone has said.
Just as a comment about high speeds, the most fun I've ever had while
racing was while doing the BMW school at Gateway International Raceway. I
was able to get up to about 140 down the front straight (well once, and then
the almost spin as I missed my braking point into turn one was a different
story). But the feel of those speeds with the concrete right next to me was
completely invigorating.
I've don't think I've ever had that much fun as running the road course
as flat out as my car would let me. (or is that as the driver was capable of).
Definitely got me hooked on road racing though. And on a side note,
anyone here running a Mazda Miata in the spec race class. Thinking about
going that way and was just curious if anyone had any first hand experience
with it.
Thanks,
Marty
