I just got back from driving my first banked oval
today. I thought it wouldn't be quite as much fun as
it actually was. I did have a very hard time
adjusting to the new vehicle. I am used to driving
karts, and my FWD autox rabbit, but this was really
different.
I drove a pro challenge truck (kinda like a legends
car, but with a truck body on it.) It was really
quick. I never thought I'd say it, but it was almost
too fast. Going down the back stretch, it was running
about 103 mph and I got tunnel vision. It was really
weird. It looked to me like star wars or
something...everything going by way faster than it
should. Then I spun, and broke the darn
starter...game over.
Has anyone else ever had that happen? I think I could
handle it if I got a chance to practice a little more,
but it was really intimidating to have the walls right
there at all times.
