Yeah I've got the Harbor Freight kit and like others I haven't had any
problems with it. I read about your adventures when you upgraded the
trailer, and frankly I sort thought it was too much worry for a trailer
that was carrying at most 1/3 of it's rated capacity.
I've towed my trailer about 15,000 miles over three years (two SD Tours,
two Nats, a trip to Lemoore, Colorado Tour, various events > 100 miles
away) and have had 0 problems (except some ass breaking off a taillight
at an event one time). The bolts haven't even loosened. It's also the 8"
wheel job.
Personally, I think that generally while stronger is better, in this
case we're so lightly stressing this thing that it's not a real worry.
The only thing I do wish was that the suspension was a little less
stiff. It sure does get thrown around on big bumps at 80 sometimes. If I
cared more I could fashion new leaf springs, but it's just too much work
for that.
