I don't necessarily want the club to broadcast autox on TV. I
am neutral on that issue. I just want the club to start marketing
autox on TV and other national media. I respect road racing but
this is _not_ the Road Racing Club of America. It's the SCCA with
multiple sports under its umbrella.
Road racing and Pro Rally have their days in the sun with TV
shows. I enjoyed watching the Runoffs on Speedvision. Why can't the
club tell people that our sport even _exists_? During 3+ days of
Runoffs coverage, was it impossible to put in some brief blurbs on
autox? Maybe I missed it. I wasn't able to watch or tape every
race. Show a Miata and a Honda at some local autox.
At the Runoffs, there were road racers like Shauna Marinus that
are great autoxers. Show how they learned their craft by starting in
autox.
My fictitious friends Joe and Jane Shmoe can't afford to road
race or go Pro Rallying. However, they can have fun just about every
weekend with their grocery getter. Even baby Joey Shmoe can ride
along in a TSD or gimmick rally. Baby seats are worth 5 HP, you
know. Extra power is nice after getting lost. ;-)

What percentage of the club is primarily autocrossers?
