66.2% (almost 2/3's) of the entries are in nonV8 or big HP cars by your
numbers. Using your analysis one might say that since the majority of
entries are in Stock Category, is seems that most autocrossers do not try to
improve their cars???? <VBG>

*****note the term majority above would be based on a number of greater than
50% and while I've not gone to the trouble to look at the entries yet for
this national the ones during the past have had the stock category lead with
greater than 50% of the entries.
As of 9/4/2000 there are 1108 entries. Of those 374 are in classes
dominated by V8s or big HP cars. That's 33.75% of all the entries.
