than 11.5" bias ply slicks on the same car on a fifty second course. Using
the winning 98 Nationals ASP and AP times as a reference, the DOTs should
have been about a second slower than the slicks.
Unless the Kuhmo pressure is dropped in the sub twenty psi range the whole
contact patch isn't usable given the car's 1700 lb weight. However, the
Kuhmo performance drops drastically with these low pressures unlike the slick
due to sidewall characteristics.
Would a 315/35/17 radial perform better than a 265/45/16 radial at a sub
twenty psi since it has less side wall to distort?
