Saturdays C/S report:

Kevin Dietz was in 1st place in the morning. Glen Hernandez ran as the
second driver of the 924 porsche on corded Kumhos, so his times were a
bit off. Marc Segal was in 2nd place in his 93 MR2. I forget who was
3rd. I redlighted and coned my left side runs.

In the afternoon, I cleaned up the left side for a 31.9 to go with my
31.5 right. Moved me up to 3rd. Glen was back in 1st and Kevin in 2nd.
The Toyos seemed to do well on the hot concrete. The gap from 1st to 3rd
was .6 seconds.

At this point, I started feeling physically ill and went back to the
hotel. All plans of working in my off-time were lost as I fell asleep at
7:00pm after taking some medication. Woke up at 6:00am Sunday feeling
dizzy and ill..but getting better.

Decided to dress more appropriately today and put on light shirt and
shorts. This will be mistake 5. Noticing it seemed cooler today, I
grabbed a sweatshirt and made my way to the site. The day is very cold
and cloudy. VERY cold.

We run early and I find that the Toyos are not as grippy as I would
like. C/S ends up with 6 drivers very close in times with many class
position changes (as was also the case in a few other classes).

1st Glen, 2nd with some killer runs was Derek Butts, and then I think
"Lew-Ann" in a borrowed Baileymobile...or maybe it was Kevin Dietz. I
frankly was more interested in how I did...which was not good. The times
were close, but we had 6 drivers within 1.3 seconds total of each other.

Turns out that the top 4 drivers in a class go to the challenge, so even
though my times were okay, I am out of the challenges (first time I
didn't make one..) 8(

It is really raining hard now (Pro class will be running in a deluge)
and I have to change my tires/pack in a rainstorm. Only good thing is
that I made it home in less than 5 hours.

I left before I saw most finishes and before a few groups ran and I
didn't pay much attention. Sorry. Here is what I saw:

A/S Thomas Harrington in his MR2 turbo took 1st place. Rich Fletcher in
his 968 did very well, as did Marchell on their new tires.

I think Taka Aono took 1st in P4.

Nice to see two M Coupes there, including the new one driven by Joe
Goeke and Anna Hedley.

There was not enough cars in BS, so they were bumped to AS. This course
did have a horsepower front straight..so that was tough. Katie Kelly
drove very well, but I think the BS cars had a hard time.

Two of the Porsches broke swaybar endlinks.

I think Grady Wood took GS in the Type R (right?) with Barbara
Leroy-Boehme in 2nd.
