Is there a difference in wheel rates between live axle and IRS
cars? This would be the only means whereby this could happen.
There's nothing intrinsic in IRS that would tend to reduce
unloading of the inside tire. Matter of fact, the camber
characteristics of a live axle are superior for getting the
inside wheel to do its share of the work. This is why De Dion
suspensions were invented.

I can't say from personal experience, but it is my impression
that the Mustang's biggest problems in FS came from the front
end, not the rear, ergo the IRS won't be all that helpful. Any
'Stangers care to comment here?
