Okay, it took me a few reads of this to figure it out. Obviously your
method requires intelligence..so I was screwed. But, now that I
understand it, I like it. Good idea. 

In fact, it would be pretty simple to take this a step farther, to add
some markers to the top end to calibrate to. So you have bumps of some
material (screw heads? Wood steps?) that are 1", 1.25", 1.5", etc
depending on your range of camber. Then you wouldn't have to measure
anything with that third hand, since one hand is holding the block and
one hand is holding Randy's square. 8)
