I got to drive Andy McKee's MR-2 once or twice, I can't remember, but
what I noticed was that the faster I drove it, the better it handled.
The thing is, you've got this big ol' hunkin' weight in the back. I
think it's called an engine. Whatever it is, it's really heavy. It feels
like your carrying this big ol' back pack or something. You just have to
accept that you're going to lug around this thing.

Now a Miata is a much more well balanced car, which can be misleading.
You might feel like you're pushing its limits when you're not. It's what
makes the car so popular - even driving slow feels fun (fun is
relative). Now, I noticed in my first runs with the MR-2 that it pushed
a lot, but as soon as I realized I could drive it a lot harder, it
handled a LOT better. Then I really liked the MR-2, and enough to say
it's one of the funnest autocross cars out there. Of course, then I had
to go and spin it. The story of my life.

Anyway the MR-2 is a really fun car to drive, and an excellent value for
low budget autocrossing. But, it's still not a convertable, and I love
Lucy, so there you go.
