The wiper motor goes in a circle, reversing the polarity reverses the rotation 
of
the motor.  The back & 4th motion of the wiper comes from a bar attached to a
wheel (think of railroad engines).  It doesn't matter which way the motor
revolves, the back & 4th is the same.
