guys,

just a warning to those that have the rear tube shock conversion (with the
one-piece bracket).
recently, my frame cracked on both sides due to the added torque forces
that this kit puts on it.
this then caused a rear diff mount to shear apart. if you regularly drive
on crappy urban streets (i.e. san francisco)
and freeways (i.e. hwy 880 and its exit ramps) loaded with potholes and
other hazards like i do,
i would recommend to not use this kit.  perhaps you'll be alright on
buttery smooth suburban roads.
because of all this, and as per the welder's and shop's recommendations,
i'm having the shop order new lever arm shocks and links and am going back.
the welder did a nice job at fixing the frame, but i am not going to risk
having it crack again.
at the least, out of all this hassle, i found a great mechanic in oakland
that i think i'll be using from now on.
