After finally getting her on the road running well (many here had a hand in
it and I thank you VERY much) I find that i'm unhappy with how sloppy it now
seems going down the road. My steering rack moves a LOT side to side and all
the rubber bushings look original. So its UP on the jackstands again and to
work on the suspension! I have the TR6 "Improvement" book and while there
are great ideas on modifying much of the suspension/brakes/etc. I would like
to know of some owners experience with these things. Here is what i'm
looking at now;
Steering Rack: I'm replacing both tie rod ends but am unsure wether to go
with new rubber rack mounts or the solid aluminium mounts as sold on
Goodparts
Front Suspension: New ball joints, new shocks, new stock springs, but again
unsure about using rubber or Nylatron to replace upper and lower bushings
Rear Suspension: New stock springs, again unsure about bushing type. Also
unsure as to what tube shock conversion kit to use as I now read some won't
work with oversize tires (I run 205/65/15 on stock steel wheels). Adding
rear sway bar.
Differential: Will replace mount bushings with stock rubber, check for
cracked mounts, may have all U-Joints replaced jut for the hell of it..
Thanks for any input!
