 Chrome does look nice, but painted to me looks more appropriate for TR's.
I've considered it gaudy for the TR's and MG's, but for Jags and other "high
end" cars chrome is the only way to go. Of course that's just me and if you
like chrome go for it.

I don't have wire wheels but when I get them they will be painted not
chrome. Just personal choice I guess. I think the painted look better.
Maybe all the originals were painted?

I have heard that if you have to heat up a spoke to adjust it, the
chrome will discolor, but painted can be repainted.
