just had my cam reground
sent the original lifters to have hardness tested. they were all over 55
hardness so they were reused
might be the reason so many cams go south so quickly
"The valve lifters are made from soft chilled iron and almost always go bad so
it would be best if you sent them along with your cam so we could measure the
radius crown height and regrind them"
read and heard the same from many sources. the lifters they sell today are
usually soft, there go the lobes.
