Wow...
I guess it boils down to what you want out of the car. If you are
looking for a return on investment, (how to say this gently?) you
probably won't get it. I can say that I was in a local (Atlanta) LBC
shop and seen a MGA with a $12,000 paint job and it was gorgeous. If
you are going to drive the car daily that is a bit much to watch the
road chips and dings that happen. If you are going to store and carry
to car shows in an enclosed carrier, maybe.
It really comes down to what you want out of the car. We have a
member that is going to that extreme on a TR250 and will be driving
the car when and where he wants. Oh if you my opinion, I wouldn't do
it, but it is just an opinion.
It will be interesting to watch this thread for sure.

Subject: Restoration paint job
Hi listers,
I just returned from a custom paint garage with a quote of $7500 for a
complete restoration paint job with all the bells and whistles -
lifetime
guarantee, etc. Has anyone ever put that kind of money into their TR6
for a primo paint job? Estimate wait time is anywhere from 6mos. to a
year!
