Jim,
I believe that the spirited campaign by listers writing to Haynes just 
might have had something to do with it. I had contacted several persons at 
Haynes during that time period and had offered to buy  the rights to 
reprint the manual and was flatly told that were no plans to reprint the 
manual- they were snippy, as I recall. Perhaps an excellent example of 
grassroots politics in action.
