Walt,

I am in the process of doing the same manifold clean-up. I have
glass-beaded the intake manifold and sprayed it with Diamond Clear from
Eastwood.

For the exhaust manifold, I had planned to have it ceramic coated but,
since I may go to a Rimmer Bros sport exhaust system this summer, I
decided to go a cheaper route. This manifold will be glass-beaded as
well and I will then paint it with two coats of Eastwood's Factory Gray
High Temp Coating. I used this product about 4 years ago and it is now
to the point where I need to reapply (I did not glass bead it last time,
just used a wire wheel).

A guy in my area who does restorations (and loans me his blasting
equipment) advised me to have the exhaust manifold machined flat before I
reinstall. After laying the manifold on the steel deck of my table saw,
I think I'll take his advice.

Good luck with your manifolds.
