A damned nuisance and only favoured by Hooray Henryâ??s and Posers. My very first car, an MG TA had them and that was only because the bonnet side catches on either side were so worn, the bonnet was likely to fly off at speed. As the Rev counter didnâ??t work and the speedo needle twitched the full range of the dial, I knew I was going fast at 15amps on the ammeter. My best friend helpfully told me that 15amps in my TA equated to 65mph in his frog eye Sprite. Invest your money in something more practical than two strips of leather and two buckles unless youâ??ve got a Speed Six Bentley or an Invicta as they both really need them.
