If the problem is old grease in the half shaft splines, why not add zerk
fittings to them if you take them off. I did it to mine and it was fairly
easy. I am about a year or so from trying them though.
Speaking of half shafts,, does anybody know of a source for the little felt
strips that seal the back of the nut that holds the two halves together. It
looks to be about 3/16" x 5/16" or so. Also, what is the recommended grease
for the splines? Is white lithium grease OK or should I look for a water
proof grease of some kind?
