Import duty is not the same as VAT.  Value Added Tax is what the Brit Govt. 
gets on items sold in the UK.  Import duty is what the US Govt. gets from 
levies on certain imports.  The latter is supposed to protect US companies 
from foreign competition.  Cheers.
