948s have 950 embossed in the block near the rear of the motor under the
carbs.
1098s had a tag near the front of the motor, carb side as did 1275s.
But no 1275 came with side covers.
I think the later 1098s had an oil separator can on the front side
cover, early ones had a draft tube.
