MGs new Chinese owner, Nanjing Automobile Group, has decided to change
the meaning of the famous initials to help promote the brand in its new
home. MG originally stood for Morris Garages but Nanjings Zhang Xin has
commented that the firm wants Chinese consumers to know this brand as
Modern Gentleman, to see that this brand represents grace and style.
Larry, Do you still want a "Modern Gentleman" little car?
You can go get a manicure, your brows waxed, put on a little eye shadow
and go prancing around town in your new M G which Might Go
Buster, and I know what MG stands for now.
