Uh, no. Resistance doesn't give a flip about polarity, unless you're
measuring a diode. Jim is right about one thing, though. An ohmmeter
will tell you for sure.
Throw an ohmmeter between the terminal and the body of the sender and
move the float arm. "Up" = "Full" See what number you get.
