<< MAINE TO SCRAP OLD CARS
On April 12, Governor Angus King signed into law L.D. 2182, a bill designed
to “improve air quality through market incentives for the purchase of
cleaner vehicles.” A main feature of the bill calls for the scrapping of
older cars that, according to the bill’s sponsors, diminish air quality. >>
Did anyone bother to inform the governor that the newest vehicle in
Maine, aside from a 90 Renault LeCar executive vehicle and a couple of 71
Dodge state police cars, is that ragged old Ford Pickup the dog drives into
the pond while chasing ducks in that cute commercial on Speedvision.
