Larry,

I got out my ohm meter this weekend, and checked for continuity between the 
bolt 
at the base of the steering shaft, and the a bolt holding the steering rack to 
the frame... yep, had a very high resistance value. So then I checked between 
the the bolt on the shaft and a bolt on the rack itself, and that had almost no 
resistance. So I made a ground wire about 4 inches long, and fastened one end 
under rack chassie bolt, and ther other end under a rack bolt. Now the 
resistance from the steering shaft to the body shows almost zero.

Now my horn still doesn't work, and I have a blown head gasket!

Oh-well.
