there are three reasons for dieseling as I understand it... 

A. a hot spot in the combustion chamber which continues to fire the mixture
B. a throttle that can't be closed to prevent the fuel from continuing to
flow.. Or the Idle set to high...
C. bad gas which doesn't burn clean and leaves deposits for A above....

so to prevent dieseling one should Clean the combustion chamber.... then
ensure it doesn't get too Hot by having the correct fuel mixture and the
throttle blades set to the lowest livable setting for a quality Idle... and
the timing set correctly to ensure it doesn't add to the Heat build
up....That is not to far advanced....

Okay guys go ahead and blast away at my ignorance... I can live with it..
